Tony was born in London and discovered at a very early age his love of music and especially the guitar. He joined his first band at age 14 years playing at weddings and other social functions until he moved with his family to Essex where he first played with a ‘proper’ band called the ‘VIP’s’.
After leaving school at age 16 years he played for ‘Screaming Lord Sutch’ and ‘Wee Willie Harris’ amongst others whereupon he formed a band with John Richardson for a while before teaming up with Tommy Steel for whom he played many studio sessions.
Becoming somewhat disillusioned with the London session scene Tony eventually moved up to Burnley and remained until one day he received a surprise telephone call from John Richardson asking him if he would be interested to join the Rubettes.
Tony stayed with the ‘Rubettes’ until leaving due to health problems in 1979.
He now lives and works as a Journalist in Lancashire.
